NBRPA unveils logo for 2013 Legends All-Star Weekend in Houston

The NBRPA recently unveiled the logo for its 2013 Legends All-Star Weekend in Houston, February 14-17. In addition, the NBRPA Houston Chapter will announce its events for All-Star Weekend as part of a press conference on Thursday, October 18.

WHO:
Arnie Fielkow, NBRPA CEO; Major Jones, NBRPA Houston Chapter President; Sheila Jackson-Lee, U.S. Congresswoman; El Franco Lee, Harris County Commissioner; Jerry Davis, City Council Member; Wanda Adams, City Council Member; and Janis Schmees, Executive Director, Houston Sports Authority will all make brief remarks. Phillis Wheatley High School girls and boys basketball teams and cheerleaders will entertain.

WHY:
Activities will coincide with the exciting 62nd NBA All-Star Weekend, hosted in Houston for the third time, and will serve to celebrate the careers of the NBRPA members, commemorate the impact of African Americans in basketball for Black History Month, and give back to the community with programs for youth and initiatives with Project Wet (Water Education for Teachers) and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Education Coalition.
