All-Star Weekend 2018: Day Two Recap

February 18, 2018

Two days down, one to go! We started the day off bright and early at the Legends Breakfast with Athletes in Action. Kim Anthony, former USA national team gymnast, and Chris Broussard, 12 year NBA analyst for ESPN and current NBA analyst for FS1, emceed an outstanding program about NBA Legends and paving the way for the current generation of players. Jerry Colangelo awarded Chet Kammerer this year’s Jerry Colangelo Award, which honors an NBA executive doing exceptional work for the association and in their communities. Kammerer was a college head coach for 27 years, was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2000 and is now the VP of Player Personnel for the Miami Heat. In addition, Lindsey Hunter was awarded the Bobby Jones Award for his contributions to the court and his community. Archie Clark got on stage next and spoke with Broussard and Author/NBA Writer Sam Smith for an up close and personal interview, discussing his and his teammates’ efforts to bring about free agency to the NBA.

Finally, the evening was capped off with the Legends Party at Lucky Strike LA Live. It was an epic night watching the slam dunk and three-point competitions while hanging out with all the Legends.
