2011 Legends World Sports Conference

The 2011 Legends World Sports Conference -- the preeminent sports conference for National Basketball Retired Players Association members -- took place in Las Vegas Aug.26-28. This year's event focused on personal development, health and business.
New NBRPA Chief Executive Officer Arnie D. Fielkow met with members during the conference. Fielkow -- the former New Orleans City Council Vice President and New Orleans Saints' Executive Vice President, officially started at the NBRPA on Oct. 1 and has expressed excitement over his new role.
“I am incredibly excited to assume the leadership of the NBRPA as its new CEO," Fielkow said. "The Association is comprised of a very dedicated and energetic Board of Directors, and I look forward to working with each of them and all the members in growing and strengthening the organization. The NBRPA carries with it a tremendous upside opportunity for expansion and success, and I am honored the Board has entrusted me with taking the leadership reins."
During the two days of the conference, members chose from several educational workshops in order to create their own conference "roadmap." In addition to the workshops, the conference offered general sessions and keynote speakers.
