James McDaniels (1948-2017)

Western Kentucky University legend, James “Jim” McDaniels has passed away yesterday. He was 69. McDaniels ranked first in Big Red history in career field goals, scoring and double-doubles. He was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in 1969-70 and 1970-71. After college, McDaniels went on to play for the Carolina Cougars of the American Basketball Association. After a successful run in the ABA, he made the move to the NBA, where he played for five seasons with the Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Lakers and Buffalo Braves.
