4-TIME ALL-STAR OTIS BIRDSONG & FORMER ARKANSAS ALL-AMERICAN RON BREWER TO LEAD FREE YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINIC FOR TORNADO VICTIMS IN ARKANSAS

May 28, 2014

The NBRPA will host a free youth basketball clinic for tornado victims at Mayflower Middle School in Mayflower, Arkansas, on May 30 at 4 p.m. The event will be led by four-time NBA All-Star Otis Birdsong and former Arkansas Razorbacks All-American and NBA standout Ron Brewer – both Arkansas residents. The event is open to all middle school students in Mayflower, the community that was struck by a tornado on April 27 that caused widespread damage, injury and multiple fatalities.

“As a resident of Arkansas, the tragedy that struck close-to-home in Mayflower resonated with me and I wanted to do something for the youth in this community that has been through so much,” said Birdsong, who is Chairman of the Board for the NBRPA. “With the support of our brothers and sisters from the NBRPA, former Arkansas Razorbacks and NBA great Ron Brewer and I will team up to lead this youth event to hopefully help ease the minds of the youth in Mayflower.”

As part of its charitable mission, the NBRPA works to positively impact communities and youth through basketball. The NBRPA holds dozens of free youth events across the country, as well as internationally, for communities in need each year.
