The National Basketball Retired Players Association’s (NBRPA) cornerstone initiative, Full Court Press: Prep for Success had a particularly special backdrop this weekend at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The museum houses 40,000 square feet of basketball history, and to date, memories of more than 300 inductees.

In partnership with Jr. NBA, five of those inductees offered their basketball knowledge to 100 participants during the youth clinic including, Rick Barry (1987), Spencer Haywood (2015), Calvin Murphy (1993), Sheryl Swoopes (2016), and Jamaal Wilkes (2012). Additionally, NBA standout Dwight Davis was present.

Young hoopsters had an opportunity to learn off the court as well. Participants were taught techniques for communicating and interacting with police by Strategies for Youth, whose mission is to promote strong police-youth relationships.

The 2017 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2017 was inducted on Friday and includes seven-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, former ABA and NBA star George McGinnis, former UConn and WNBA star Rebecca Lobo, Kansas men's head coach Bill Self, Notre Dame women's coach Muffet McGraw, former Texas high school coach Robert Hughes, former Harlem Globetrotters player and now owner Mannie Jackson, NCAA administrator Tom Jernstedt and former European star Nick Galis.
