NATIONAL BASKETBALL RETIRED PLAYERS ASSOCIATION TO HOST LEGENDS WORLD SPORTS CONFERENCE IN SOUTH FLORIDA

The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), the only Association comprised of NBA, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters and WNBA alumni, will host its annual Legends World Sports Conference in South Florida at Club Med’s Sandpiper Resort in Port St. Lucie, Sept. 20-22. The 2013 Legends World Sports Conference is presented by Wells Fargo. Other participating partners are Professional Athlete Franchise Initiative powered by FranNet, Florida International University Health, Choice One Mobile, Retired Professional Athlete Group, Trilogy, DirtySixer Bikes, EarQ, Northern Trust, Florida A&M University, O’Happy Day Travel, Thuzio, Something Inked, Boston’s Pizza, CKE Restaurants, Del Taco, East Coast Wings, Massage Heights, Zaxby’s and Miss Jessie’s.

Widely recognized as the premiere gathering of its kind for former professional basketball players, the Legends World Sports Conference (LWSC) is the NBRPA’s annual retreat for members and partners to learn, network and unite in community service. More than 200 former professional basketball players and their guests will attend and participate in the conference. The NBRPA will give back to Florida youth with basketball clinics in nearby Orlando and Miami as part of its Full Court Press: Prep for Success program on Sept. 21 and 28, respectively. A visit to Children’s Hospital in Miami by NBRPA Members will also take place the morning of September 19.
