NBRPA Welcomes DirtySixer Bikes

September 20, 2013

The National Basketball Retired Players Association is proud to announce its partnership with DirtySixer bikes, the only 36er bicycle made for tall people by tall people.

DirtySixer bikes approached the NBRPA thanks to NBA Hall of Famer and avid cyclist Bill Walton, to introduce a new concept. Bicycles custom built specifically for tall people.

Using the taller wheel size of 36 inches, DirtySixer bikes creates a ground breaking custom bicycle for tall riders, that handle tremendously better than any other bike made with the smaller, standard 700c -or 29er- wheels size.

Alex Leanse, 6’10” declared after riding the DirtySixer: “I thought my XL (Surly) Karate Monkey and XXL (Specialized) Stumpjumper FSR felt pretty good, but the moment I swung a leg over the DirtySixer I knew that 29” wheels will feel just too small from now on.”

The DirtySixer is the only bicycle made for tall people using the 36 inch wheel size, specifically adapted for tall bodies, using oversized Titanium tubing for better strength and hand built parts to achieve ergonomically adapted solutions.

David Folch, founder and CEO of DirtySixer, 6’6” himself, is really proud of this new partnership: “We are looking forward to put more tall riders and tall athletes on comfortable, safe, durable and good looking bikes. If you want to show your status, your devotion to a great sport and a greener way of life, and are taller than 6’6”, the DirtySixer is the only way to go!”

The NBRPA will organize a raffle, to gift a custom hand-made DirtySixer bike to be built to the very own measurement of the raffle winner. Proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the NBRPA's Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Fund.

Winner of the raffle will be announced at following the 2014 Legends weekend at the Mohegan Sun Hotel & Casino in April.

The DirtySixer bike will be present at the 2013 Legends World Sports Conference in South Florida at Club Med’s Sandpiper Resort in Port St. Lucie, Sept. 20-22.

The DirtySixer bike will be available to test ride on Saturday, September 21, as long as the rider is taller than 6’5”.

DirtySixer bikes will also be present at the following events:

-2014 NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana.

-2014 Legends weekend at the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.
