SCHOOL YARD ALL-STARS PROVIDES NBRPA MEMBERS THE CHANCE TO SHOW WHERE THEIR STORIES BEGAN

January 13, 2017

Dane Jensen is a huge basketball fan with a great appreciation for the history of the game. It was only fitting that he created a way that could celebrate the history of the players who made the game into what it is today. However, he decided to stray a bit from the norm of when basketball players stories are usually told and went even further back: their high school days.

From this, School Yard All-Stars was developed - A company that offers a range of the highest quality replica high school jerseys from past and present professional athletes, with every single sale giving back to the schools that helped shape that player’s legacy.

“The legends helped create this game,” said Jensen. “And we feel that while a lot of their stories are told, the story of where they really started from (high school) is not. It is my goal with this company and partnership with the NBRPA to help tell these stories.”

“I want to provide fans with a unique way to connect with their favorite Legends,” said Jensen. “These jerseys help share the story of where it all started for these guys but not only that, it also helps give back to their high schools and local communities.”

Jensen is hopeful with the partnership with the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) that members will look to work with them in collaborating with their high schools to produce their throwback jerseys. School Yard All-Stars has a partnership deal with National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), which gives them access to over 4,500 high schools throughout the United States to license and authenticate the jerseys. In the unique case that a legend’s high school may not be on their approved list, they have business plans in place to contact that player’s school and work with them on helping to approve the production of the jersey.

Jensen also remarked that each jersey that is produced will be 100% designed and made in the United States. This will not only provide School Yard All-Stars the chance to give back to local manufacturers, but also assure all parties that the jerseys will be crafted using only premium quality materials to the highest level of workmanship.

As the blossoming partnership between School Yard All-Stars and the NBRPA grows, Jensen has met with a few NBRPA Chapter Leaders including Atlanta President Dale Ellis. Their goal is to meet up with even more NBRPA members in a partnership they very excitedly feel will prove to be beneficial and valuable to all. He attended the Legends World Sports Conference this past July where he was marveled by the wide array of legends the NBRPA had to offer and looks forward to future NBRPA events and possible meet-ups with Chapter Leaders and members to soar the partnership into new gears.

“The ability the NBRPA has with all of their members to use as a resource to help the players, their local communities and high schools is a great thing,” said Jensen. “I am humbled to now be a part of that and really want to set out to be a valuable asset to the organization and the legends.”
