As Chicago welcomed the basketball world for WNBA All-Star Weekend, Legends of Basketball proudly celebrated the remarkable women whose talent, leadership, and legacy have shaped the game for generations.
Throughout the weekend, WNBA Legends, current players, partners, and supporters came together for a series of meaningful experiences centered on connection, community, health, and the continued growth of women's basketball. From youth engagement and wellness initiatives to networking opportunities and our signature W Legends Brunch + Social, the weekend reflected the organization's ongoing commitment to honoring the pioneers of the game while investing in its future.
W Legends Brunch + Social
The centerpiece of the weekend was the sold-out W Legends Brunch + Social, held under the theme "Where the Game Moves Forward."
The event brought together WNBA Legends, league executives, corporate partners, healthcare leaders, community advocates, and basketball fans for an afternoon celebrating the women who built the game and the leaders who continue to shape what's next.
The program opened with welcoming remarks from Legends of Basketball CEO Antonio Davis, who reflected on the importance of preserving the legacy of women's basketball while creating new opportunities for future generations.
Guests then honored 2026 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Candace Parker through a special tribute featuring a commemorative video and heartfelt message recognizing her extraordinary impact on the game, the city of Chicago, and women's sports.
The featured conversation brought together WNBA Legends Cynthia Cooper and Tina Thompson, moderated by Rushia Brown, for an intimate discussion on leadership, mentorship, athlete empowerment, and the continued evolution of women's basketball. The conversation emphasized that while these Legends helped build the game, their influence continues far beyond their playing careers as mentors, executives, entrepreneurs, and advocates for the next generation.
The celebration continued with an exclusive rooftop social, where attendees strengthened relationships, connected with partners, and celebrated one another in one of Chicago's most memorable settings.
Celebrating Community Beyond the Court
The weekend extended beyond the brunch through opportunities that reflected the broader mission of Legends of Basketball.
WNBA Legend Rushia Brown, in partnership with ServCom, hosted the Play Like a Girl Basketball Skills Clinic, inspiring young athletes through skill development, mentorship, and leadership while encouraging the next generation to pursue their dreams both on and off the court.
Legends also gathered throughout the weekend for official watch parties, hospitality experiences, and networking events that strengthened the lifelong relationships that continue to define the organization.
Investing in Member Wellness
As part of its continued commitment to member health and wellness, Legends of Basketball once again offered complimentary health screenings for W Legends during All-Star Weekend.
The screenings provided members with valuable preventive healthcare resources and reinforced one of the organization's core priorities: ensuring that those who built the game have access to the support and care they deserve long after their playing careers have ended.
