Los Angeles, CA - February 16, 2026 – Legends of Basketball today announced the election of its newest Board Members: Greg Foster, Lionel Hollins, Alando Tucker, and Sam Vincent.
They will join Chairman Charles “Choo” Smith, Vice Chairman Eddie Gill, Secretary Sedric Toney, and Treasurer Rushia Brown in guiding the organization during an important period of growth and rebrand.
Greg Foster
Greg Foster played 13 seasons in the NBA as a center/forward from 1990 to 2003, winning an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001. Born in Oakland, California, he attended Skyline High School and played college basketball at University of California, Los Angeles and later University of Texas at El Paso, where he finished his college career. He was selected in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Washington Bullets and went ton to play for multiple teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Seattle SuperSonics, Toronto Raptors, and the LA Lakers.
Lionel Hollins
Lionel Hollins played 10 NBA seasons (1975–1985), winning an NBA Championship with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1977 and earning NBA All-Star honors in 1978. A graduate of Arizona State University, Hollins later built a respected coaching career, serving as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets, among other roles.
Alando Tucker
Alando Tucker played three NBA seasons (2007–2010) as a forward after being selected in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. A native of Lockport, Illinois, Tucker starred at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he became one of the most accomplished players in program history and was the school’s all-time leading scorer at the time of his graduation. He later played for the Minnesota Timberwolves before continuing his professional career overseas and in the NBA Development League. Following his playing career, Tucker transitioned into player development and coaching roles, including returning to Wisconsin in a staff capacity.
Sam Vincent
Sam Vincent played seven NBA seasons (1985–1992) and won an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics in 1986. A Michigan State standout, Vincent was drafted by the Boston Celtics and played for multiple NBA franchises including the Seattle SuperSonics, Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, and New Jersey Nets. He later served as head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2007–2008 season.
These appointments come at a pivotal moment for the organization following the official rebrand to Legends of Basketball, formerly known as the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA). President & CEO Antonio Davis stated, “We are excited to welcome our new board members and look forward to the leadership, insight, and experience they bring. Their contributions will strengthen our strategic direction and continue to elevate our impact.”
Davis also expressed gratitude to outgoing board members Shawn Marion, CJ Kupec, Mike Bantom, and Ron Dupree, noting, “Their leadership and service to the association have been invaluable, and we sincerely appreciate their dedication.”
